Paula Colangelo

Paula Colangelo is a poet and a graduate of Binghamton University’s English/Creative Writing
Program. She holds an MFA in Poetry from Drew University where she received the Jane Coil
Cole Scholarship. As an undergraduate she was the recipient of an Academy of American Poets
Prize. Her poems are published in Salamander, Sugar House Review, SWWIM Every Day, Lily
Poetry Review and Slant, among other journals. Her book reviews appear in Pleiades and Rain
Taxi.

Paula is passionate about poetry and writing and actively seeks opportunities to promote the arts.
She is proud of her 10-year association with the Hudson Valley Writers Center, studying with
Jennifer Franklin, attending readings, and participating in workshops with visiting poets and
instructors.
Paula has worked as an Editorial Assistant in trade magazine publishing and for the Corporate
Communications Department of the advertising agency Publicis Groupe. She has also freelanced
as a reporter for a local newspaper in Rye, NY.

She has taught English, volunteered in animal welfare, and taught poetry in arts healing therapy
programs at a rehabilitation center and an assisted living residence.
