Click the colored tabs below to show only specific options. Our workshops run as multi-session series or one-day “intensives.” Note, we list the multi-session courses on the first day they meet only. The full dates of the session are described in the course descriptions. You would need to scroll back to the start date if you needed to enroll for something already underway. Monday Night Poetry: From Villain to Vanished—How To Slay The Beast of Writers Block with Anastacia-Renee (via Zoom):

$335.00Join Anastacia-Renee as she leads a supportive, inspiring workshop for six weeks Jan 22-March 4 (no class on Feb 18).
We’ve all been haunted by the folklore of the big, bad mythical creature called “Writers Block.” In this generative workshop, week by week we will take our creative power back. We’ll tame and ultimately erase the Writers Block monster towering over and blocking our intentional and best writing. This workshop will supply you with multiple tools and exercises to dismantle self-imposed blocks and help you develop (or sharpen) writing rituals, practices and habits. Each class will consist of three generative writing prompts, three “writers block-blockers,” and one poetic device or multi-genre mini-writing lesson.

Anastacia-Renee (She/They) is an award-winning multi-genre writer, educator, interdisciplinary artist and Speaker. Renee’ is the author of Side Notes from the Archivist, (v.), and Forget It. Here in the (Middle) of Nowhere forthcoming from HarperCollins Amistad March 2024.
Her/Their work has been anthologized in: Teaching Black: The Craft of Teaching on Black Life and Literature, Home is Where You Queer Your Heart, Furious Flower Seeding the Future of African American Poetry, Afrofuturism, Black Comics, And Superhero Poetry, Joy Has a Sound, Spirited Stone: Lessons from Kubota’s Garden, and Seismic: Seattle City of Literature. Her work has appeared in, Hobart, Foglifter, Auburn Avenue, Catapult, Alta, Torch, Poetry Northwest, A-Line, Cascadia Magazine, Hennepin Review, Ms. Magazine and others. Renee has received fellowships and residencies from Cave Canem, Hedgebrook, VONA, Ragdale, Mineral School, and The New Orleans Writers Residency.
